Pamela Roberts
Creator of Healthy & Hydrated Natural Skin Care
Before I created the Healthy & Hydrated skin care line, my family and I used ordinary name brand products. Our skin was dry and lackluster. It was uncomfortable, itchy and scratchy.
We used ordinary cleaning products in our home which resulted in smelling like bleach or “pine” and other chemicals after cleaning.
Have you ever wondered how skin care and cleaning products were made? I thought there must be better, more nourishing skin care products on the market. My interest in herbalism gave me clues and showed me a path to improve our home and body care products.
So, I started making lotions, body butters, and cleaning sprays. Some of the products we liked, some we did not.
At first, we noticed that our skin started to feel better and look amazing. Then, our breathing improved. The air in our home felt cleaner and smelled so much better than it did when we used name brand products from the big box stores. Above all, we felt better.
Our skin felt great, our home smelled amazing, and we were avoiding so many chemicals.
One winter holiday, I made skin and home care baskets to give to my family and friends. Never thinking about building a business around these products.
Soon my family and friends started to ask for more products. They had used up the gifts they were given and wanted more. More for their selves, their families, and to give away as gifts.
At first…
“This must be a fluke,” I thought. However, I quickly learned that there are a lot of people who were and are yearning for non-toxic, natural home and skin care products.
The fear I would not be able to break into the skin care and home product market. But, I was wrong, however it has not an easy or quick feat.
My goal is to Creatie the most luxurious, non-toxic, natural products for people seeking to reduce chemical and toxin exposure on their skin and in their homes.
Formula testing is a steep learning curve
The first body butters melted if they got above 85 degrees F. It was important to find oils and butters that didn’t leave the skin greasy. Testing for bacterial growth and Ph balance was also necessary. Then marketing: designing attractive labels, and packaging.
Not to be deterred, there were times the perfect product seemed so far off.
There was and continues to be research and experiments,
taking classes, and testing products. It was important to consult with lab technicians and scientists who were also herbalists, aroma therapists, and doctors. They weighed in on what I was creating, providing valuable feedback.
I was determined to create non-toxic skincare!
When the products were first released, I was afraid no one would buy them; but that fear was short lived. With the release of my web site, people from all across the US started to buy my amazing products.
After all of the trial and error, one thing leading to another, my product line has gained popularity because of the care taken to create each product.
